About Our Speaker:

Speaker - Martha Mayville Martha's career spans over 40 years. She began her career on active duty in the Air Force, then joined the Air National Guard (part-time), and finally completed her 21 years’ military service as a supply officer in the Navy Reserve. Concurrent with her part-time duties in the Air National Guard and Navy Reserve, she worked in a variety of industries and for multiple federal agencies as both senior individual contributor and manager. Martha’s primary career fields are procurement-contracting and project-program management. She also possesses training and experience as a mediator, business process improvement professional, in legal-business issues as a paralegal, and most recently, as a licensed insurance adjuster. Since 1992, when she attended the Navy Instructor School, Martha has developed training materials and taught seminars and courses on a wide variety of subject areas in the Navy Reserve, in her full-time employment, and in her own business as a cross-functional business consultant and trainer. Martha holds a B.S. in business management and two masters degrees, an M.S. in Operations Management and an M.S. in systems engineering. Her professional certifications include: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Texas licensed insurance adjuster. Her federal government certifications include: contracting officer, COR and COTR (program management), DAWIA level 3 in contracting, level 2 in production management, and level 2 in program management. For several years, she has been active in professional associations such as National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and Project Management Institute (PMI) where she has served on multiple committees, presented seminars, and conducted CPCM and PMP certification review classes. Currently, Martha is retired from the federal service and Navy Reserve. She remains active in PMI as a mentor to project managers and on the military outreach team. On a part-time basis, she is a trainer and business consultant. Her leisure activities include reading nonfiction and traveling with her family in their recreational vehicle (RV). |
