Presentation Overview:
Leadership and communication skills are essential to every project manager and the organizations they work for. Executives know the importance of leadership and many are investing in it so they can compete in today's marketplace. Leadership development must be part of your professional development plan.
Tonight's event will highlight how you can improve your communication and leadership using skills developed through Toastmasters. The meeting format will introduce you to Toastmaster's highly successful and interactive methods while providing you with specific leadership "nuggets" such as:
- Getting your message across in a clear and confident manner
- Creating your "elevator speech" to pitch your project or yourself'
- Acing interviews
- Providing positive feedback to others and helping them improve their skills

Speakers - Toastmasters Fort Worth Leaders Bob Beideck Bob Beideck joined Toastmasters through this chapter’s club in 2014, wanting to improve and continue the development of his public speaking skills, which he started developing in middle school, and eventually get his PMP. He is currently the club’s treasurer and a Senior Data Engineer at Fidelity Investments. He earned his first Distinguished Toastmasters or DTM, the organization’s high educational award, in 2018 and his second in 2022. As a result of his growth in Toastmasters, he has had the honor of serving in district roles such as Area Director, Conference Chair, Division Director, and Parliamentarian and getting opportunities at work.
Chelsea Pavey Chelsea Pavey earned her PMP in March 2022 and joined Fort Worth Project Managers Toastmasters shortly after that. She has been employed by Jason’s Deli for 18 years, first starting as a cashier in a local deli in Atlanta, GA. Moving through the ranks, she is now the IT Project Manager and oversees a variety of projects for the company. Having worked in a variety of positions including sales, concept, data analytics, and distribution within Jason’s Deli has provided a well rounded view of the company which helps make the best decisions. Having always wanted to be a part of Toastmasters, joining the FW Project Managers group provides the perfect opportunity to refine speaking skills, take leadership positions, and earn PDUs. Chelsea has previously served as secretary for the club and is the group's current president.
Rahmana Warren Rahmana Warren earned her PMP in January 2017 and joined the Fort Worth Project Managers Toastmasters the following year. She has been employed at Quest Diagnostics for over 25 years, first starting as a Cytotechnologist, then moving into several leadership roles for eight years, and now holds a position as project manager for Quest's esoteric laboratory division in Lewisville. She is also presently working on her Master’s in Information Technology. Rahmana has found the FW Toastmasters club to be a great place to practice presentations and get valuable feedback as well as providing the opportunity to gain leadership skills, earn PDUs, and improve on public speaking. She has filled many roles for the group, including President, VP of Membership, and VP of Public Relations, and is currently serving as VP of Education. |
