Join us for another session in our Industry Spotlight series, which features project managers from various industries highlighting how they utilize project management in their specific field. Rick Zarate will join us to talk about his work at the Tarrant Regional Water District on constructed wetlands projects.
Rick will provide an overview of the Tarrant Regional Water District, the types of projects that are managed at the District and methods used, the reuse water cycle and operations of the George W. Shannon Wetlands, and Rick’s role in helping to managed the design of the Cedar Creek Wetlands.

Speaker - Rick Zarate, PMP
Rick Zarate is the Wetlands Manager at Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) working on the Environmental Services team. As the Wetlands Manager, Rick oversees the day-to-day operations of the 2,000 acre George W. Shannon Wetlands for TRWD, which are located adjacent to the Richland Chambers Reservoir. The George W. Shannon Wetlands are a water supply project built to meet growing water demands in TRWD’s service area. Wetlands also play a number of roles in the environment, including water purification, flood control and provide habitats for wildlife. Rick is also overseeing the design and construction of TRWD’s Cedar Creek Wetlands project which will further augment TRWD’s water supply by treating additional reclaimed water to enhance the supply storage and yield of the Cedar Creek Reservoir. Rick is an accomplished scientist and has over 15 years' experience working in engineering and environmental consulting, project management, and construction management in the State of Texas.
