Presentation Overview:

Topic: From Wrenches to Boardrooms: Leadership and Project Management Across Industries and speaker Pedro de Leon, Jr.
My career journey has taken me from serving in the military as a mechanic and leader to working in financial services, capital raising, and strategic business advisory. Across industries, I learned that project management is ultimately about leadership, communication, adaptability, and problem-solving under pressure. In this session, I’ll share real-world lessons from leading teams, navigating major career transitions, coordinating with investors and executives, and working alongside professionals on complex business challenges.
Learning Objectives:
  • Understand how leadership and project management principles transfer across industries and high-pressure environments
  • Learn how communication, adaptability, and stakeholder management impact business outcomes and team performance
  • Gain insight into how strategic coordination between professionals can help solve complex liquidity, succession, and business continuity challenges

About Our Speaker:

Speaker - Pedro de Leon, Jr.

After serving 12 years in the military, managing and streamlining over $20 million in systems and operational processes, Pedro transitioned into financial services, entrepreneurship, and strategic business advisory. He co-founded Tent Hut, a social enterprise that competed at USC, UCLA, and multiple startup incubators, winning several pitch competitions and contributing to raising over $10 million for a real estate project and more than $25 million in total capital, including client raises.

Today, he co-owns a home care agency, invests in businesses, and works alongside CFO firms and business owners on advanced insurance and liquidity strategies focused on business continuity, succession planning, executive retention, and capital efficiency. His experience spans leadership, operations, stakeholder management, capital strategy, and cross-functional collaboration across military and private sector environments.
