Presentation Overview:

Topic: Manage Yourself Like a Project: Using Asana to Prioritize Well-Being

Session Overview

Project managers are trained to anticipate risk, manage scope, allocate resources, and deliver under pressure. Yet many high-performing professionals do not apply those same principles to the management of their own energy and capacity.

This session reframes well-being as a performance sustainability strategy. Participants will explore how burnout develops in high-performing environments and how project management principles can be intentionally applied to prevent it.

We will model how a tool like Asana can act as a practical implementation tool, and participants will build a structured Personal Capacity Project that includes defined wellness KPIs, risk mitigation strategies, recurring recovery workflows, and a short-term sprint plan to test their ability to make sustainable adjustments..

What We Will Address

  • How burnout develops in high-performing roles
  • The relationship between recovery, decision quality, and execution
  • Translating project management frameworks into energy management practices
  • Building a system for proactive burnout prevention
  • Implementing measurable, trackable well-being metrics

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify early indicators of burnout within themselves
  2. Apply risk mitigation principles to personal energy management.
  3. Define measurable KPIs related to sleep, stress, focus, and recovery.
  4. Build a structured Personal Capacity Project in Asana.
  5. Implement a 14-day sustainability sprint to test immediate improvements.
  6. Establish recurring reflection practices to prevent long-term capacity erosion.
